Elements and Principles of Graphic Design

Elements and Principles of Graphic Design
Assignment #2 Package Design

Specifications:
Visit your local grocery store and choose a product with poorly designed packaging. Redesign the packaging or product label. Don’t choose the product arbitrarily; make sure you find a product that doesn’t stand out on the shelf. Make sure you include everything that is on the current label (i.e. logo, supporting copy and any peripheral elements etc.) The product can be any size.

Required:
·      Design product label
o   Include logo, supporting copy and peripheral elements (i.e. ounces, net weight, etc.)
o   Color or B&W
·      Use whatever materials you feel most comfortable with (markers, computer)
·      Create final file to present to the class. If you’ve used traditional materials you should use the scanner in the lab to input your work to the computer for uploading to our class.
·      Include your thought process (i.e. thumbnails, sketches, etc). You can turn this material in to me at the end of the semester with your final files. It will be graded so don’t wait until the last minute to create these, I will be able to tell.
